==Preparation== It can be prepared by coupling of fluorinated C2 precursors. Addition of iodine monochloride to chlorotrifluoroethylene gives iododichlorotrifluoroethane that can be coupled in the presence of mercury to give 1,2,3,4-tetrchlorohexafluorobutane:
