The film Platoon featured a squad of five soldiers on their mission for the US Army in Vietnam. In this action game based around the film, you take control of these five guys in turn, with the chance to switch between them as they each take one of the 3 hits that would kill them. The game recreates each of the sections of the film, starting with a side-scrolling journey through the jungle, with paths to cross both horizontally and vertically, and the ability to jump or duck hazards. Platoon è un videogioco pubblicato nel 1987-1988 da Ocean Software, prima per gli home computer a 8 bit e poi per quelli a 16 bit e il Nintendo Entertainment System.Ispirato al film di guerra Platoon, è composto da livelli con meccanica di gioco diversa, sia in terza sia in prima persona.Nel 1988 Sunsoft sviluppò anche una conversione per sala giochi, anche nota con il titolo Vs. Platoon, basata su quella NES e sul sistema Nintendo Vs. Series in licenza da Nintendo. Le versioni originali 8 bit in cassetta (Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum) includono una seconda cassetta audio con The Tracks of My Tears di Smokey Robinson, parte anche della colonna sonora del film. Un altro basato sul film, ma non correlato, è uscito nel 2002 per Windows.
