
Tindivanam is a Selection Grade municipality, Taluk headquarters, Revenue division and Sub-district in Viluppuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.The City was earlier known as "Thinthirivanam" (திந்திரிவனம்) due to the Shivan Thinthrineeswarar temple located in it. It is the second largest city in Villupuram District after the headquarters Villupuram . The city is the center connecting point for road and railway network.
