Embroidery — 1250-1517

Fragment of a plain woven, undyed linen textile, possibly a scarf or girdle, decorated with geometric patterning in running stitch embroidery in dark brown silk. The designs created in reserve include a large S-shape and whirling rosette. The decorated band is bordered at top and bottom by a thicker embroidered band. Thread count: 16/14 (Z/Z spun)
