A design detail for an ornamental rococo band, probably for the horizontal of a mantelpiece or console table. The right half of a rococo shell-like cartouche is to the left. A scrolling rococo band connects this along the horizontal to a similar half cartouche at the right. This cartouche is cut in half on the diagonal.
