Etymology: From Ancient Greek ἀγγεῖον (angeîon, “receptacle”) + σπέρμα (spérma, “seed”), equivalent to angio- + sperm.

1. Any plant of the clade Angiosperms, characterized by having ovules enclosed in an ovary; a flowering plant.
