noun

Etymology: Originated in the early 2000s as slang term in African American Vernacular English. Early entries for bop in the Urban Dictionary date to 2005 (describing “a female who gives head [fellatio] to anyone.”). The term was popularized among Gen-Zers in 2023, after TikTok user @theyhateonbiran1 posted a video explaining the etymology (derived as an abbreviation of “blown out pussy,” in reference to a female who has had multiple sexual partners, although it has been adapted to alternatively mean “baddie on point,” usually in reference to women who post sexually provocative or explicit content online).

  1. A promiscuous woman, especially in the context of having a high body count or giving fellatio to many men.

Influencers on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and streaming sites […] dispense warnings about bops (those with many sexual partners), exegesis on the importance of body count (the number of people someone has slept with) and the dangers of simping (being excessively attentive or submissive to an uninterested love object), constructing entirely new categories by which to sort and judge potential mates.

  2. A woman who posts erotic content for money.

[…] [Piper Rockelle] says she makes TikToks telling younger fans not to follow her on to OnlyFans, “deinfluencing” them from becoming a bop (a woman who posts erotic content for money) or a “mattress actress” (an adult content creator).

Etymology: Variant of whop (“to move around quickly with an impact”) and bob (“to move gently vertically”) as well as from the dances above interpreted as a manner of locomotion.

  2. To have sex.
