Etymology: From game + book.

1. A book of games.

   “In this gamebook, you'll answer questions! By keeping score, you'll have fun with your friends! Or with your family in the car on a trip, like I used to have with my kids!”

2. A book containing an interactive story which unfolds as the reader makes decisions and follows links between numbered pages.

   “Some gamebooks have outcomes that are determined by chance, as with the rolling of dice.”

3. A written record of the game that has been shot in a certain area (date, hunter, species, etc.).
