Etymology: From Old French jubilacion, from Latin iūbilātiō (“a shouting for joy”). Cognate with Spanish jubilación (“retirement”).

1. A triumphant shouting of great happiness; rejoicing, especially as celebratory outbursts; a feeling of joyous exultation.
