noun

Etymology: From night + spot.

  1. An establishment that is open late at night, especially one that provides entertainment, such as a nightclub.

We went to a nightspot where the lights were low Dined and danced, and I was ready to go

I simply cannot believe the prevalence of loud music in Boston's gay bars. It's not that I dislike disco, but I tire of leaving the nightspots with ringing ears (and double vision, I might add, due to the silly light shows!)
