Pronunciation: /ˌpɑliˈæmərəs/

adj

Etymology: From a 1990 article by Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart, A Bouquet of Lovers, formed poly- + amorous or polyamory + -ous.

  1. Having relationships with multiple partners, with the knowledge and consent of all involved; engaging in polyamory.

Being polyamorous isn't inherently wrong. Neither is desiring threesomes or kinky sex.

Grace now lives alone, but many of her friends still live in group houses, where they share resources, and sometimes polyamorous entanglements.

  2. Open to having such relationships, regardless of one's experience or current practices.
