Etymology: From Azerbaijani qəpik. Doublet of kapeek, kopeika, kopek, and kopiyka.

  1. A unit of currency equivalent to a hundredth of an Azerbaijani manat.

    In 1992 it reformed its system and introduced the manat (also spelled man'at), equal to 10 rubles, and divisible into 100 qapik (also qepiq). According to Islamic lore, Manat was the daughter of Allah.
