Cistopus
Cistopus is a genus of octopuses in the family Octopodidae from the Indo-Pacific region, colloquially known as old-lady octopuses. For a long time it was thought that Cistopus was monotypic with the type species, C. indicus, being the only known species. This species was characterised by the possession of eight small mucus filled pouches around the animal's mouth in the web between the bases of each arm, these have an opening which releases the mucus. The function of these pouches is unknown. A new species, C. taiwanicus was described in 2009 from Taiwan. Octopuses in the genus Cistopus are ha
Cirrothauma
Cirrothauma is a genus of deep water octopuses from the cirrate family Cirroteuthidae. The species of Cirrothauma are fragile, gelatinous deep-sea octopods with a large 'butterfly-shaped' shell.
Luteuthis
Luteuthis is a small genus of cirrate octopuses currently placed in the family Grimpoteuthidae. There are two species classified in this genus one from waters west of New Zealand and the other from the South China Sea.

Pareledone
Pareledone is a genus of octopuses in the family Megaleledonidae.
Macrotritopus
Macrotritopus is a poorly known genus of octopuses in the family Octopodidae. As it stands, Macrotritopus contains two valid described species, Macrotritopus defilippi from the NE Atlantic and Mediterranean, and Macrotritopus beatrixi from the Caribbean and SW Atlantic. Two poorly described, unresolved taxa are known only from planktonic hatchlings (Macrotritopus equivocus and M. scorpio), and a further three undescribed Indo-Pacific species may be attributable to this genus.
Stoloteuthis
Stoloteuthis is a small genus of bobtail squid in the family Sepiolidae and the subfamily Heteroteuthidinae with one species, Stoloteuthis leucoptera, which is found in the western and eastern Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian Ocean, the Antarctic Ocean and the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The other species, Stoloteuthis japonica. was described in 2011 from a type specimen collected off northeastern Honshu.
Asperoteuthis
Asperoteuthis is a genus of chiroteuthid squid comprising four species:
Sepiolina
Sepiolina is a small genus of bobtail squid in the family Sepiolidae and the subfamily Heteroteuthidinae from the western Pacific Ocean.
Plesioteuthis
Plesioteuthis is an extinct genus of squids, belonging to the family Plesioteuthididae. This genus was first described in 1859, and its fossils were found in the well-known Solnhofen field in Germany.
Bolitaena
Bolitaena is a genus of pelagic octopods from the subfamily Bolitaeninae in the family Amphitretidae. It contains two species, a third species Bolitaena microcotyla is now regarded as a synonym of Haliphron atlanticus.
Enoploteuthis
Enoploteuthis is a genus of squid in the family Enoploteuthidae, being the type genus. Enoploteuthis is a genus with a relatively high number of species, most of which were described in the late 20th and early 21st century. They have been collected during exploratory trawling in the mesopelagic zone. They are an important food source for fishes and toothed whales but they are of little commercial value, except for Enoploteuthis chunii which is caught as bycatch in the Japanese fishery for Watasenia scintillans. Many species are diel migrants, spending the day at depth and moving up the water c
Cycloteuthis
Cycloteuthis is a genus of squid in the family Cycloteuthidae. It is distinguished from the genus Discoteuthis by the presence of a tail on the mantle. The species C. akimushkini is currently considered a junior synonym of C. sirventi, however this is inconclusive and the World Register of Marine Species has C. akimushkini as a valid species.
Doryteuthis
Doryteuthis is a genus of squid from the waters of the western Atlantic and eastern Pacific, off the coast of the Americas. The various species are the common inshore squids of American waters. Some species are important quarry species for fisheries.
Gonatopsis

Gonatopsis is a genus of squid from the family Gonatidae. They are characterised by the loss of their tentacles by the time they have reach the subadult stage. They have arms which have two series of hooks along the midline of the oral surface arms, the radula has five or seven teeth, the mantle can be muscular or flabby, fins are rhomboid or arrow shaped and they lack photophores. They are found in the North Pacific.
Nematolampas
Nematolampas is a genus of squid from the family Lycoteuthidae. The genus comprises two species, both of which are known from only a few males. The type species, Nematolampas regalis has been recorded from the subtropical South Pacific and the second species, Nematolampas venezuelensis, is from the tropical western North Atlantic. The main distinguishing feature of this genus is that arms III are very elongated and thread-like and have no suckers near their tips. As only males have been captured it is not known if this feature is present in females.
Pyroteuthis
Pyroteuthis is a genus of squid in the family Pyroteuthidae. It is differentiated from the genus Pterygioteuthis by size, head shape and behaviour. Species within the genus are separated by the arrangement of tentacular photophores; the shape of the hectocotylus, and the shape of the hectocotylus hooks. With the exception of the Tropical Eastern Pacific, the genus is circumpolar in tropical and temperate oceans. The species P. addolux is the only member to occur in the North Pacific.

Rondeletiola

Rondeletiola is a genus of bobtail squids in the tribe Sepiolini. It was described by Adolf Naef in 1921.
Japetella
Japetella is a genus of pelagic octopods from the subfamily Bolitaeninae in the family Amphitretidae. It contains at least one species but another two have been questionably raised with Japetella heathi being of doubtful validity, although currently accepted and Japetella taningi being classed as a nomen dubium.
Ommastrephes
Ommastrephes is a widespread genus of squid in the family Ommastrephidae.
Adelieledone
Adelieledone is a genus of octopuses in the family Megaleledonidae.
Discoteuthis
Discoteuthis is a genus of squid in the family Cycloteuthidae. It is distinguished from the genus Cycloteuthis by the absence of a tail on the mantle. The genus occurs in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide.
