The film stars Rishab Shetty in a four roles as Berme, Mayakara, Annappa and Kaadubettu Shiva, along with Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah. A prequel to the 2022 film Kantara, the story delves deeper into the origins of the tradition and ancestral conflict introduced in the first film. Despite the release of the predecessor, this film is considered to be the first chapter of the franchise.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is a 2025 Indian Malayalam-language superhero action film written and directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan for Wayfarer Films. It stars Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen, with Sandy, Chandu Salim Kumar and Arun Kurian in other significant roles. In the film, Chandra, a mysterious woman, comes to Bengaluru to fight the evil. Her life changes after she meets young Sunny and his friends, and gets entangled with a corrupt cop Nachiyappa and an organ-trafficking ring associated with him.

Dweepa () is a 2002 Indian Kannada-language film by Girish Kasaravalli, based on the novel of the same name by Na D'Souza. It stars Soundarya, Avinash and M. V. Vasudeva Rao in the lead roles. The novel dealt with the raging issue of building dams and the displacement of natives. The film, however, focuses more on the human interaction between characters and the dam and displacement themes become somewhat secondary. It won two National Film Awards, four Karnataka State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South.
