Human disease
choriocarcinoma
Choriocarcinoma is a trophoblastic cancer usually located on the placenta. It is characterized by early hematogenous spread to the lungs. It belongs to the malignant end of the spectrum in gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD). It is also classified as a germ cell tumor and may arise in the testis or ovary.

fetus in fetu

germinoma
A germinoma is a type of germ-cell tumor, which is not differentiated upon examination. It may be benign or malignant.
struma ovarii
rare form of monodermal teratoma that contains mostly thyroid tissue, which may cause hyperthyroidism

dysgerminoma
A dysgerminoma is a type of germ cell tumor; it usually is malignant and usually occurs in the ovary.
embryonal carcinoma
embryonal cancer that is a type of germ cell tumour, located in the ovaries or testes
endodermal sinus tumor
germ cell cancer that has material basis in cells that line the yolk sac of the embryo
gonadoblastoma
A gonadoblastoma is a complex neoplasm composed of a mixture of gonadal elements, such as large primordial germ cells, immature Sertoli cells or granulosa cells of the sex cord, and gonadal stromal cells. Gonadoblastomas are by definition benign, but more than 50% have a co-existing dysgerminoma which is malignant, and an additional 10% have other more aggressive malignancies, and as such are often treated as malignant.
polyembryoma
Polyembryoma is a rare, very aggressive form of germ cell tumor usually found in the ovaries. Polyembryoma has features of both yolk sac tumour and undifferentiated teratoma/embryonal carcinoma, with a characteristic finding of embryoid bodies lying in a loose mesenchymal stroma.
