Khamenei family
The Khamenei family is an Iranian religious and political family that has ruled Iran since Ali Khamenei was elected the second supreme leader of Iran in 1989. After his assassination in February 2026, he was succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei. Their predecessors as the family of the supreme leader were the Khomeini family headed by Ruhollah Khomeini from 1979 to 1989.

The Huwaytat ( al-Ḥuwayṭāt, Northwest Arabian dialect: ál-Ḥwēṭāt) are a large Hashemite Ashraf tribe descending from Husayn ibn Ali that inhabits areas of present-day southern Jordan, the Sinai Peninsula and Sharqia governate in Egypt, the Negev in Israel, and northwestern Saudi Arabia. The Huwaytat have several branches, notably the Ibn Jazi, the Abu Tayi, the Anjaddat, and the Sulaymanniyin, in addition to a number of associated tribes.

Rizvi or Razavi (Arabic/Urdu: رضوي) is the Urdu variant of the Arabic surname Ridawi and the Persian surname Razavi. It is a Muslim surname commonly associated with the branch of Husaynids, who claim descent from the Imam Ali al-Rida, a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad through his grandsons, Husayn ibn Ali (patrilinealy, through his great great-grandfather Ali Zayn al-Abidin, who was the son of Husayn) and Hasan ibn Ali (through his great great-grandmother, Fatima bint Hasan, who was the daughter of Hasan). Since the Rizvi clan traces their lineage to Fatimah (the prophet's daughter)
