Sinowilsonia henryi
Sinowilsonia is a monotypic genus of plant containing the single species Sinowilsonia henryi. It is endemic to central and southern China. It is threatened by habitat loss. It is available from specialized commercial nurseries.
Cynomorium
Cynomorium is a genus of parasitic perennial flowering plants in the family Cynomoriaceae. The genus consists of only one species, Cynomorium coccineum (although one of its subspecies is sometimes treated as a separate species). Its placement in the Saxifragales was resolved in 2016 with the help of nuclear, plastid, and mitochondrial sequences obtained from next-generation sequencing. Common names include the misleading Maltese fungus or Maltese mushroom; also desert thumb, red thumb, tarthuth (Bedouin) and suoyang (Chinese). A rare or local species, it grows in dry, rocky or sandy soils, oft
Hypagophytum
Hypagophytum is a genus of plants in the family Crassulaceae. It includes only the species Hypagophytum abyssinicum, endemic to Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Mytilaria
Mytilaria is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Hamamelidaceae. It includes a single species, Mytilaria laosensis, a tree native to southern China (southeastern Yunnan, western Guangdong, and western Guangxi), Laos, and Vietnam.
Chunia
Chunia bucklandioides is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Hamamelidaceae. It is a tree native to Hainan and northern Vietnam. It is the sole species in genus Chunia.
Afrovivella
Afrovivella is a monotypic genus of the succulent plant family Crassulaceae. The sole species is Afrovivella semiensis.
Fortunearia
Fortunearia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Hamamelidaceae. It just contains one species, Fortunearia sinensis Rehder & E.H.Wilson, a shrub or tree native to southern and north-central China.
Whittonia
Whittonia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Peridiscaceae. It only contains one known species, Whittonia guianensis.
Perrierosedum
Perrierosedum is a genus of succulent plant in the family Crassulaceae containing only one species, Perrierosedum madagascariense. It is a critically endangered species endemic to Madagascar.
Neostrearia
Neostrearia is a monotypic genus - i.e. a genus containing only one species - of plants in the witch-hazel family Hamamelidaceae. It is the second described of three monotypic Australian genera in this family, the others being Ostrearia and Noahdendron. It is most closely related to these genera, as well as Trichocladus (4 species) from southern Africa and Dicoryphe (13 species) from Madagascar, and together these five genera form a distinct clade within Hamamelidaceae.
Ostrearia
Ostrearia is a monotypic genus - i.e. a genus containing only one species - of plants in the witch-hazel family Hamamelidaceae. It is the first described of three monotypic Australian genera in this family, the others being Neostrearia and Noahdendron. It is most closely related to these genera, as well as Trichocladus (4 species) from southern Africa and Dicoryphe (13 species) from Madagascar, and together these five genera form a distinct clade within Hamamelidaceae.
Meterostachys
Meterostachys is a genus of plants in the family Crassulaceae, that contains a single accepted species, Meterostachys sikokiana, native to Japan and Korea. It is little known and is difficult to cultivate.
Peridiscus
Peridiscus lucidus is a species of flowering plant, the only species in the genus Peridiscus, which is one of four genera within the family Peridiscaceae. It grows in Venezuela and northern Brazil, in evergreen, sometimes riverine forests. It was originally described by Bentham and Hooker in 1862. The taxonomic history of Peridiscus and of Peridiscaceae is complex, and has been resolved by molecular phylogenetic analysis.
Maingaya
Maingaya is a monotypic genus of plant containing the sole species Maingaya malayana. It is a tree endemic to Peninsular Malaysia. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Noahdendron
Noadendron is a monotypic genus - i.e. a genus containing only one species - of plants in the witch-hazel family Hamamelidaceae. It is the third described of three monotypic Australian genera in this family, the others being Ostrearia and Neostrearia. It is most closely related to these genera, as well as Trichocladus (4 species) from southern Africa and Dicoryphe (13 species) from Madagascar, and together these five genera form a distinct clade within Hamamelidaceae.
Tetracarpaea
Tetracarpaea is the only genus in the flowering plant family Tetracarpaeaceae. Some taxonomists place it in the family Haloragaceae sensu lato, expanding that family from its traditional circumscription to include Penthorum and Tetracarpaea, and sometimes Aphanopetalum as well.
