Taiwanofungus was circumscribed by Taiwanese mycologists in 2004. T. camphoratus is a medicinal fungus that is found in Taiwan, where it grows on the endemic tree species Cinnamomum kanehirae. It was first described in 1990 by Mu Zang and Ching-Hua Su as a species of Ganoderma. T. salmoneus, originally placed in Antrodia, was validly added to the genus in 2012.
Pyrofomes
Pyrofomes is a genus of fungi in the family Polyporaceae. The genus was circumscribed by Czech mycologists František Kotlaba and Zdenek Pouzar in 1964. The type species, Pyrofomes demidoffii, was once considered a widespread species with a distribution that included East Africa, Middle Asia, Europe, and North America. DNA evidence demonstrated that North American collections represented a lineage that was different than European collections. The North American sibling was reinstated as P. juniperinus in 2017.

The type species is Mycorrhaphium adustum (formerly referred to Hydnum). Fruit bodies of species in the genus have caps, stipes, and a hydnoid (tooth-like) hymenophore. There is a dimitic hyphal system, where the skeletal hyphae are found only in the tissue of the "teeth", and a lack of cystidia. The spores are smooth, hyaline (translucent), and inamyloid.

The type species is M. tawa, a fungus originally described by Cunningham as a species of Trametes. Formerly classified in family Meruliaceae, Metuloidea was moved to the Steccherinaceae in 2016, following prior research that outlined a revised framework for the Steccherinaceae based on molecular phylogenetics.

Pseudopiptoporus is a genus of fungi in the family Polyporaceae. It was circumscribed by Norwegian mycologist Leif Ryvarden in 1980 with the type species Pseudopiptoporus devians. This fungus was originally published as Polyporus devians by Giacomo Bresadola in 1920. Pseudopiptoporus chocolatus was added to the genus in 2003.

Niemelaea is a genus of poroid crust fungi in the family Meruliaceae. The genus was circumscribed by Russian mycologists in 2015 to contain three fungi formerly placed in the genus Ceriporiopsis. Niemelaea fungi are characterized by their crust-like fruit body, large, thin-walled angular pores, and a monomitic hyphal system. Spores made by these fungi are ellipsoid and have refractive contents. The genus is named in honour of Finnish mycologist and polypore specialist Tuomo Niemelä, who described the species Ceriporiopsis balaenae.

This fungus, first described as Trametes floccosa by Giacomo Bresadola in 1896, is thought to have been originally collected in Tanzania.
