Hodthorpe is an urban village in the parish of Hodthorpe and Belph, Bolsover, Derbyshire, lying close to the Nottinghamshire border and on the edge of Sherwood Forest. The village has two principal streets, Queens Road (the main road running through the village) and Kings Street. It has one shop, a village primary school, and a Working Men's club. There are three parks.

Crowdecote (sometimes spelled Crowdicote) is a small village in Derbyshire, England. It is situated on the border between Derbyshire and Staffordshire about south of Buxton. Crowdecote is within the civil parish of Hartington Middle Quarter. It is thought that the name Crowdecote derives from Cruda’s Cot (Cruda was a Saxon landowner while 'cot' meant a form of shelter). Crowdecote is popular with walkers and ramblers because of its proximity to Chrome Hill, High Wheeldon and Parkhouse Hill to the north and Dovedale to the south.

Duckmanton is a long scattered village, running north and south, usually designated Long, Middle and Far Duckmanton, of which Middle Duckmanton is east from Chesterfield and west from Bolsover.

Poolsbrook () is a former mining village near Staveley in Chesterfield, England. The village was built by Staveley Coal and Iron Company towards the end of the 19th century to provide housing for workers employed at the nearby Speedwell and the later Ireland Collieries. Since then new houses have been built (dubbed the "new village" by locals) and the old houses have been knocked down.
