The Belgian rider of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe defeated Milan Fretin (Cofidis) and Biniam Girmay (NSN Cycling Team) in a sprint on the Houba de Strooperlaan. Australian ace sprinter Robbie McEwen won Paris-Brussels, the then Brussels Cycling Classic, no less than five times. McEwen took part in the race for the first time in 1997. On his second appearance, in 2002, he won the race. The Lotto – Adecco rider defeated Olaf Pollack in a bunch sprint. The next four times he raced the Brussels Cycling Classic were the years from 2005 to 2008. McEwen managed to win all four of those editions. He defeated Stefan van Dijk, Tom Boonen, Jeremy Hunt and Gert Steegmans respectively.

La Brussels Cycling Classic 2020, centesima edizione della corsa e valevole come diciannovesima prova dell'UCI ProSeries 2020 categoria 1.Pro, si svolse il 30 agosto 2021 su un percorso di 204 km, con partenza e arrivo a Bruxelles, in Belgio. La vittoria fu appannaggio del belga Tim Merlier, che completò il percorso in 4h48'39", alla media di 42,404 km/h, precedendo l'italiano Davide Ballerini e il francese Nacer Bouhanni. Sul traguardo di Bruxelles 112 ciclisti, su 134 partiti dalla medesima località, portarono a termine la competizione.
