Abakaliki () is the capital city of Ebonyi State in southeastern Nigeria, located southeast of Enugu. The inhabitants are primarily members of the Igbo tribe. ==Etymology== The name Abakaliki originally means 'Aba Nkaleke' and is the name of a community in Izzi land (Nkaleke).
