Alex Mendez was born in Havana, Cuba. He studied classical guitar at the conservatory, "Gerardo Guanchez", and there he improved his songwriting talent. Later he became known of his work with "Duo Alanimo". Currently he is living in Denmark where he performs regularly with his band.. His compositions are essentially Cuban, but also have clear foreign influences. The lyrics unite beautiful poetry with more down-to-earth and festive topics where one also finds a touch of irony and cheerfulness. <a
