Alois Brunner

Alois Brunner was an Austrian military personnel and politician who served as a member of the Nazi Party. Born in Deutsch Kaltenbrunn in 1912, he held the rank of Hauptsturmführer within the Schutzstaffel and was also a member of the Sturmabteilung. During World War II, he worked for the Gestapo and was stationed at the Sereď concentration camp in the Slovak Republic. His allegiance was to Nazi Germany, and he later worked for the Gehlen Organization.

Brunner was convicted of crimes against humanity. He died in Damascus in 2010. In addition to his political and military career, he was an author with four recorded works, including *Bräuche, Feste und Feiern in Niederösterreich* and *Der Grundbesitz der Kirchen in Bayern in seiner agrarpolitischen Bedeutung*. He spoke German and was a male citizen of Austria and the German Reich.
