Altusried ist ein Markt mit rund 10.000 Einwohnern im bayerisch-schwäbischen Landkreis Oberallgäu. Der Ort liegt an der Oberschwäbischen Barockstraße. Altusried ist hauptsächlich für den dort ansässigen Theaterverein berühmt, der auch überregional bekannt ist. Von diesem ausgehend werden jährlich größere Stücke, wie beispielsweise Eigeninterpretationen der Artus-Sage oder der drei Musketiere, auf der „Freilichtbühne Altusried“ aufgeführt, ebenso wie viele, kleinere Stücke, die über das Jahr hinweg im „Theaterkästle“ zu sehen sind.
