Amato (Calabrian: ; ) is an Arbëreshë comune and town in the province of Catanzaro in the Calabria region of Italy.
==History== Amato is one of the oldest towns in Calabria. It is mentioned by the Greek philosopher Aristotle and by the Roman Pliny the Elder in one of his books. He calls it "Sinus Lametinus" (Lametino Harbour).
