It reads: "William Nelson born in Bath August 1st 1797, the memorable Battle of the Nile & baptized August 1st, Son of William Griffiths & Amelia Warren his Wife. Charles Son of William Griffiths & Amelia Warren his Wife born in Bath Jan 4th 1800 baptized August 1st" Note – another source, in the comments to Philip Strange& 39;s Blog, says: On 1st August 1798, William Nelson Griffiths was born in (?) Walworth, London and later baptised at St Issey in Cornwall on 1st August 1801. Charles Griffiths born Bath 4 Jan 1800 & bap. 1 Aug 1801 St, Issey 5. Amelia Elizabeth Griffiths born 25 Feb 1802 & bap. 13 Aug 1802 St. Issey Also from the Comments section on Philip Strange& 39;s Blog: 25 May 1819, Amelia& 39;s son William Nelson, aged 23, married Ann Conradi in Dover. William Nelson Griffiths was a fossil dealer. His son John Griffiths was a famous collector and dealer donating many specimens to various museums Extra note from Robin Jarvis: I have found John Rogers Griffiths in the 1861 Census living in Trentishoe with his sister, Caroline Mary. I am attaching an image. Unfortunately the writing is hard to read, but it does at least confirm that John Rogers was born in Sidmouth in about 1795. Very best wishes, 25 june 1851 Census Amelia Griffiths is living in Toquay with two of her daughters, a cook, a housemaid and a footman. Her grandson (?)William Nelson Griffiths is living at 160 Bulwark Lane in Dover with wife, Ann, sons John and Benjamin, and daughters Elizabeth and Sarah 1863 Burial or Death John Rogers Griffiths aged 69 in London in 1863
