Andreas Nick was educated as a theory and piano teacher in Winterthur and Zurich. Further training as a director and composer was completed in Cologne under, amongst others, Hans Werner Henze. Nick has taught theory at the ‘Hochschule Winterthur-Zürich’ since 1984. Numerous composition commissions from home and abroad and participation at various festivals followed the world premiere of his chamber opera ‘ Satyros’ in Nuremberg in 1986.
