Andy Summers is an English guitarist and composer, best known as the guitarist for The Police. Born in 1942, Andy started as a jazz guitarist. He was a member of Zoot Money, The Animals, and Soft Machine, but he became famous as the guitarist of The Police. In the 80's he collaborated with King Crimson mastermind Robert Fripp and made some ambient/new age-oriented albums on his own as well. Andy Summers (* 31. Dezember 1942 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England als Andrew James Somers) ist ein britischer Pop- und Rock-Gitarrist. Bekannt wurde Andy Summers in den späten 1970er und 1980er Jahren als Gitarrist von The Police. Später war er Gastmusiker und zeitgenössischer Instrumental-Musiker. Der Rolling Stone listete Summers 2011 auf Rang 85 der 100 besten Gitarristen aller Zeiten.
