Ann Cook (St. Francisville, Louisiana, May 10, 1903 - September 29, 1962) was a popular blues singer in the 1930s and 40s, also known as 'Bad Ann'. Her best known recordings included "Mamma Cookie's Blues" and "Barrel House Blues". Apparently aware of her youthful reputation as a hot-tempered individual who was "prone to violence (murder on down)," some of the accompanying musicians are said to have been afraid in the presence of Ann Cook.
