Усики 18-члениковые. Жвалы 2-зубые. Эндопаразиты гусениц бабочек[5]. Многие виды имеют хозяйственное значение для борьбы с вредителями сельского и лесного хозяйства. Это паразиты подгрызающих совок (Apanteles telengai), листовёрток (Apanteles ater), капустной моли (Apanteles plutellae), боярышницы и капустницы (Apanteles glomeratus) и яблонной моли-малютки (Apanteles circumscriptus), паразиты вредителей зерна и сухофруктов (Apanteles carpatus), и другие[6].
