Asda est une entreprise de grande distribution à prédominance alimentaire anglaise, appartenant à Walmart. Asda est devenue une filiale du géant américain de la distribution Walmart, leader mondial du secteur, en 1999 et est devenue la seconde plus grande chaîne de distribution du Royaume-Uni après Tesco, après avoir rattrapé Sainsbury's en 2003. Asda est la plus grande filiale de Wal-Mart en dehors des États-Unis, comptant presque pour la moitié des ventes de l'entreprise à l'international. Asda avait, en janvier 2006, 150 000 employés dont 60 000 à temps plein. Elle a réalisé un chiffre d'affaires de 134 millions d'euros en 2007. La communication est basée habituellement uniquement sur le prix, avec comme slogan Le supermarché britannique ayant les prix les plus bas, 12 ans durant.
