The War Museum of Athens is located at the corner of Rizari Street and Vassilissis Sophias Avenue, between the Byzantine Museum and the National Gallery of Greece. It first opened its doors in 1975 and is housed in a modern-shaped building. In fact, the first floor is bigger than the ground floor, thus the building looks like a mushroom. The museum aims to present Greek fights throughout history. The objects are exhibited in ten rooms that cover Greek history from the Prehistoric Period to the Second World War. The War Museum is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00 during the high season (April to October) and from 09:00 to 17:00 during the low season (November to March).
