== Geography == The village is located on the Rogozna Brook (a right tributary of the Sukhaya Rogozna in the Seym River basin), 81 km from the Russia–Ukraine border, 23 km north-west of Kursk, 19 km north-west of the district center – the urban-type settlement Pryamitsyno, 6 km from the selsoviet center – Starkovo. Climate Balychevo has a warm-summer humid continental climate (Dfb in the Köppen climate classification).
