6.0Young vicar Mr. Paul arrives at the Faroe Islands to take up a benefice, and meets the young Barbara, twice married to vicars, and with both husbands laid cold in the grave. Despite the warnings of the surrounding community and his own religious scruples, he falls victim to Barbara's at once innocent and sinful charm. The appearance of the charming and gallant Andreas Heide in Thorshavn puts their love to the severest of tests.

Barbara est un film danois réalisé par Nils Malmros, sorti en 1997, et dont l'action se déroule aux îles Féroé. Il est basé sur un roman éponyme, publié en 1939 par l'écrivain féroïen Jørgen-Frantz Jacobsen, lequel s'était lui-même inspiré des traditions entourant la figure de Beinta Broberg et ses trois mariages. En 1998, Barbara a remporté le Robert, qui récompense chaque année la meilleure production danoise.
