BattleForge ist ein von EA Phenomic entwickeltes Echtzeit-Strategiespiel. Als Vollpreistitel erstmals am 26. März 2009 veröffentlicht, wurde das Geschäftsmodell ab dem 26. Mai 2009 auf Free-to-play umgestellt und das Programm als kostenloser Download zugänglich gemacht. Die kostenlose Version enthält weniger Sammelkarten, damit Geld durch den Verkauf zusätzlicher Karten verdient wird. BattleForge nutzte seit einem Update im September 2009 als erstes Spiel die Grafikschnittstelle DirectX 11. Im September 2013 gab Betreiber Electronic Arts die Aufgabe des Spielbetriebs zum 31. Oktober 2013 bekannt.
