Birkhoff è un grande cratere lunare di 329,81 km situato nella parte nord-orientale della faccia nascosta della Luna, a nord del cratere Carnot. La struttura, erosa e usurata, presenta una superficie interessata da impatti più recenti. Il cratere è dedicato al matematico statunitense George David Birkhoff.
