Bitung ist eine Stadt in der Provinz Sulawesi Utara (Nord-Sulawesi) in Indonesien mit 187.652 Einwohnern (Stand 2010). Bitung hat den Status einer Kota. Das Gebiet wird vollständig von dem Verwaltungsbezirk (Nordminahasa) umgeben. Wenige Kilometer entfernt befindet sich der 1149 m hohe Schichtvulkan Tangkoko, der im Jahr 1880 das letzte Mal ausgebrochen ist. Die Stadt hat einen Hafen und ist Sitz einiger Industriebetriebe. Der Hafen dient dem Passagierverkehr und der Ausfuhr landwirtschaftlicher Produkte. Er liegt geschützt durch die Insel . Das Gebiet ist in die acht Unterbezirke (Kecamatan) Maesa, Matuari, Aertembaga, Girian, Madidir, Ranowulu, Lembeh Selatan und Lembeh Utara eingeteilt.
