6.7In the harsh post-war years' Catalan countryside, Andreu, a child that belongs to the losing side, finds the corpses of a man and his son in the forest. The authorities want his father to be made responsible of the deaths, but Andreu tries to help his father by finding out who truly killed them. In this search, Andreu develops a moral consciousness against a world of adults fed by lies. In order to survive, he betrays his own roots and ends up finding out the monster that lives within him.

Pa negre (Katalanisch für Schwarzes Brot) ist ein katalanischsprachiger Film aus Spanien, Drehbuch und Regie: Agustí Villaronga. Die Handlung basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Buch von Emili Teixidor mit Elementen zwei anderer Geschichten desselben Autors: Retrat d’un assassí d’ocells (Geschichte eines Vogelmörders) und Sic transit Gloria Swanson. Die Handlung des Films spielt im ländlichen Katalonien wenige Jahre nach dem Ende des spanischen Bürgerkriegs. Der 11-jährige Andreu findet die Leichen eines Mannes und dessen Sohnes. Die Behörden wollen seinen Vater für diese Tat verantwortlich machen, aber Andreu probiert, dessen Unschuld zu beweisen. Doch auf der Suche nach den Tätern stößt Andreu auf eine Welt der Lügen und entfremdet sich zusehends von seiner Familie. Der Film gewann dreizehn Gaudís (katalanischer Filmpreis), sowie neun Goyas. Als erster katalanischsprachiger Film wurde Pa negre von der spanischen Filmakademie als Kandidat für den Oscar als bester fremdsprachiger Film eingereicht.
