Bob Riley was born in 1933 in Pennsylvania. His family moved to Augusta Maine where he grew up and excelled in music. His father Henry Riley was a Vaudevillian performing as a singer and pianist and Bob first performed professionally with his father onstage at the age of 14. They had a father-son act and Bob played the banjo.
