Bockau, in der lokalen Mundart „Bucke“ genannt, ist eine Gemeinde im Erzgebirgskreis in Sachsen. Der Ort ist als Kräuter- und Laborantenort bekannt und führt den werbewirksamen Beinamen Laborantendorf des Erzgebirges. Durch den jahrhundertelangen und auch ersten Anbau im Erzgebirge von Angelika, deren Wurzeln in der Arznei- und Likörherstellung verwendet werden, wird Bockau im näheren Umkreis auch „de Wurzelbucke“ genannt.
