Su desarrollo empezó en abril de 2012 como una entrada en una y se continuó su desarrollo con soporte popular, existiendo como un juego en . El juego se lanzó el 15 de octubre de 2015 para Microsoft Windows y OS X, un port para Linux lo siguió dos días más tarde. Una versión de PlayStation 4 fue lanzada el 1 de marzo de 2016 y un port para Nintendo Switch fue lanzado el 6 de septiembre de 2018.
