Il est réalisé par Tetsurō Araki, scénarisé par Gen Urobuchi, ses personnages sont conçus par Takeshi Obata et les musiques par Hiroyuki Sawano. Le film est diffusé en avant-première lors du Festival international du film de Berlin le 10 février 2022. Le film paraît à l'international sur Netflix le 28 avril 2022, puis sortira en salle au Japon le 13 mai 2022.
