Caerleon ( ; ) is a town and community in Newport, Wales. Situated on the River Usk, it lies northeast of Newport city centre, and southeast of Cwmbran. Caerleon is of archaeological importance, being the site of a notable Roman legionary fortress, Isca Augusta, and an Iron Age hillfort. Close to the remains of Isca Augusta are the National Roman Legion Museum and the Roman Baths Museum. The town also has strong historical and literary associations: Geoffrey of Monmouth elevated the significance of Caerleon as a major centre of British history in his Historia Regum Britanniae (c. 1136), and Al

Caerleon (em galês: Caerllion) é uma vila suburbana e uma comunidade galesa, situada às margens do , ao norte da cidade de Newport, Gales do Sul. É um local de grande importância arqueológica, pois foi durante muitos séculos sítio duma notável fortaleza romana, Isca Augusta ou Isca dos Siluros (em latim: Isca Silurum) e de um fortificação em morro da idade do ferro. Ali estava estacionada a II Augusta. Seu fundador foi Sexto Júlio Frontino. Em 75, foi enviado à Britânia, onde sucedeu Quinto Petílio Cerial como governador da ilha. Ali, Frontino subjugou os siluros e outras tribos hostis de Gales.
