Callithrix is a genus of New World monkeys of the family Callitrichidae, the family containing marmosets and tamarins. The genus contains the Atlantic Forest marmosets. The name Callithrix is derived from the Greek words kallos, meaning beautiful, and thrix, meaning hair.

狨屬 (Marmoset) 是狨亞科 (Callitrichinae) 下四個屬：真狨屬 (Callithrix),，獅面狨屬 (Leontopithecus)，檉柳猴屬 (Saguinus)，節尾猴屬 (Callimico)的總稱。其中包括二十二個種，皆為新世界猴。 大部分的狨身長都在20公分左右。它們的主要特徵是：有爪子，腕部帶有絨毛，沒有智齒，大腦比較原始，體溫也不穩定。由以上特徵顯示，相較其他猴類，狨是比較原始的物種。狨原生於南美洲，主要分布於玻利維亞、巴西、哥倫比亞、厄瓜多、巴拉圭、秘魯，最近亦可在發現於中美洲及墨西哥等地。 在某些國家，狨亦可當成寵物飼養。 生活在森林的樹冠處，雜食性動物，以昆蟲、水果和樹葉為食。一般為群居。
