==History == Evidence of ancient settlement in the area includes a number of fulacht fiadh, megalithic tomb and ring barrow sites in the townlands of Luffany, Licketstown, Ballygorey, Ballinlough and Corluddy. Carrigeen village is also close to settlements at Licketstown and Glengrant, which date to Norman times.
