Chaenothecopsis is a genus of about 40 species of pin lichens in the family Mycocaliciaceae.

==Taxonomy== The genus was circumscribed in 1927 by Finnish lichenologist Edvard August Vainio, with Chaenothecopsis rubescens assigned as the type species.
