Chris Lightcap (born April 23, 1971)[citation needed] is an American jazz bassist. Since 1998 he has led his own groups and produced three critically acclaimed albums of original music. Lightcap released an album called Lay-Up on the Fresh Sound New Talent label in 2000. It features Gerald Cleaver on drums and Tony Malaby and Bill McHenry on tenor saxophones. In 2003, he released a follow-up CD on the same label called, Bigmouth. In 2010 Lightcap's current working band Bigmouth released Deluxe,
