Some climb onto fish in an act known as phoresy. Cymothoa ist eine Gattung an Fischen parasitierender Asseln. Die Art Cymothoa exigua ist der erste Parasit, für den gezeigt wurde, dass er einen zerstörten Körperteil, die Zunge des parasitierten Fisches, funktionell ersetzen kann.
