Daniel Gottlob Türk (August 10, 1756 – August 26, 1813) was a notable composer, organist, and music professor of the Classical Period. Born in Claußnitz, Saxony, Türk became Director of Music at Halle University, in Halle, Germany in 1779, and became the University's professor of music theory and acoustics in 1809.
