Dave Mattacks (born David James Mattacks, 13 March 1948, Edgware, Middlesex, England) is a rock and folk drummer. He began as a trainee piano tuner before taking up the drums. He played with several jazz bands before joining the electric folk band, Fairport Convention, in 1969. He replaced Martin Lamble, who had died on 12 May 1969 in a road accident, on the M1 motorway. David James 'Dave' Mattacks (Edgware (Middlesex, Engeland), 13 maart 1948) is een rock- en folkdrummer. Voor hij begon te 'trommelen' was hij pianostemmer. Hij speelde met verschillende jazzbands voor hij drummer werd bij de -band Fairport Convention in 1969. Hij had ook als sessiemuzikant met verschillende bands en muzikanten gewerkt.
